I was once young and noble minded and thought about all the good I would do my community by reporting a scumbag agency that was selling payday loans to fund life insurance policies...
Couldn't do it.
SC DOI "has no form" for an Agent to report another Agent or Agency.
I actually spoke to the lead investigator at SC DOI. He legally was not able to investigate unless one of their clients made the complaint. Doesn't matter what the violation is or how flagrant it is. Deaf ears, no form, not allowed. I had a picture I sent him of their sign that literally said people could take out loan from them to buy a policy.... visual hard evidence of the crime... he couldnt do a thing.
To make matters worse. The lead guy told me he was the only investigator in the office with field experience selling insurance. He had 1 year left before retirement. So most likely, there are no longer any investigators in the SC DOI who have any actual experience in the insurance industry.
