OK so Im thinking a little out loud here. I recently have been able to connect with several forum members and we all blitzed an area and sold ALOT! I would like to do it again, maybe on a regular basis. Here is what I am thinking:
1. One of these states: AL, SC, TN or NC (others considered as well)
2. We all stay at same hotel.
3. We plan on hanging out each evening and sharing war stories and eating dinner together. (if you are a wallflower thats ok too, we dont bite)
4. One evening out of the week we all have a brainstorming meeting.
5. You dont "have to" belong to any certain IMO's or group.
6. We go in group buys for hotel rooms for discounts.
7. We all stay a minimum of 3 days - 2 nights.
8. I will along with a few other FE secret agents be able to provide you with avenues and vendors for leads etc if you are coming. We will plan this far enough in advance if agents want to drop mail in the area vs. tele leads or you can do both.
9. No animals will be harmed during this meeting or sales blitz.
10. Ben Bowman is the point man for fending off security and is nominated as the go to guy for mobile office support.
11. If you need some "ride along" training feel free to jump in the car with your appointments and Im sure some of us would be able to help you out. (You would need to let us know ahead of time what day you would want a ride along so we could adjust our own field days as well as which carriers you are going to be writing)
12. If you dont like me, Ben, Spurcity, Gooner, Agentguy5 or Cash you can come anyway
I know some people hate traveling but I have no problem with it (think about it, work 3 days make $3000, where else you gonna do that?).....and if a group of FE, medsupp or senior insurance agents (old and new) go to an area its pretty fun. I feel sorry for any agent who works the area we just left, it wont be fertile for another 6 months
Once an area is announced and locked in if you are local to the area and want to come hang out or ride along let us know.
And to the naysayers all I have to say is this, you do it your way, Ill do it my way, brainstorming and mentoring groups work, period (Shameless plug for Dave Duford with Feagentmentor.com). We will all learn from doing things like this.
If you are interested in doing this chime in. I see and get value out of this. Some other agents may like it too. It can be painfully lonesome working FE, medsupps, mortgage protection and senior insurance etc for the indy agent. Maybe if we can work together as a group it might just motivate and launch you to have more production.
I have a few areas in mind but lets see what you guys come up with. If you are brand new I HIGHLY advise you to try this out.
Ok, let the tongue lashing begin. I know there will be the usual suspects who pop up and attempt to tell everyone why this is a bad idea and why it wont work.....too bad Ive already done this twice and both times wrote close to $5,000 both times, right....it doesnt work
