Getting in the Door with Carriers..

Any suggestions or ideas on how to get contracts with carriers while being Indy? What's the difficulty level? I would love to hear stories of peoples experiences.

Its not easy to get appointments but if there is one advantage I would say find out the marketing rep and give them a call and stay in touch with them. Be aggressive and let them know how you can help them. Good Luck.

I didn't realize it was very difficult; I thought one just had to sign up under an IMO/FMO to get appointed with carriers. Don't they give bigger contracts than signing up with carrier directly because you are part of a group? What am I missing?

I think they are talking about P&C carriers, which is harder to get vs. life carriers.
