Today we remember those who gave their all. I never knew my Uncle Jack, for whom I am named. He was my mother's younger brother. He was a 2d Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps when he was killed in the crash of his P-38 aircraft in 1944.

And on this Memorial Day, in honor of those who've fallen, let it be known I am forever in debt and awe of those who served and gave it all.
And while we remember those who served and died, let us not forget those who still serve today. With all this talk of raising the minimum wage, let us not fail to raise the wages of our men and women in uniform ... In the richest nation on earth, no one should be poor and hungry, least of all those who have volunteered to defend it.
Our troops need more than a salute this Memorial Day. They need food.
