Changing your password every few months is a good idea but, also making sure that you have a good password is important too. For instance use numbers, capitals and even a special character. Also you should do the same configuration to the answers to your security questions. If someone can figure out the answers to your security questions they can get right in. Plus hacking a generic letters only password is easy.
