New Anthem AOR Rules?

Had coffee with my RSM today. Two points of clarification.

1. AOR is a permanent (as of now) policy not just limited to this AEP or 1/1/12 business, it will go forward indefinitely;

2. AOR notification will be provided to the original writing agent (except for direct carrier sales) who will be given the opportunity to conserve the client (like small group).

IS this just a Cali thing or is it Anthem policy now? Can you switch someone from Anthems standardized supp to modernized supp and become the AOR?

From what I have been told, this is not just an internal policy change but was CMS-directed. Don't know how it affects Anthem in other states besides CA. Check with your sales manager.

the phone service in Anthem is taking longer to answer now it used to be super fast..

Yeah I did have to call them earlier today. I Was on hold for at least 20 minutes.

There are 110K people losing their Anthem PPO in the next 3 months. Anthem will certainly be aggressive contacting them.

Should the company move them to another MA or Supp, the original agent will still be retained.

I'm sure that for every one I might lose to another agent, I'll pick up 10-20.
