Put Money in my Pocket or Leave Money in Theirs

Neither could remember their correct age? Most people 65+ I speak to are very certain about their age and they will tell you so. You did the right thing but keep your fingers crossed this gets thru UW. Good luck.

Don't know if this will get through underwriting.

Based on the conversation The OP & the client had there might be some Aricept involved :)

I have plenty people are off with there age a bit, I always ask for DOB before quoting them.

I had an appointment today with an 81 year old man who was in excellent health. He was cutting brush out of his fence row with an ax when I got there. I would last about 5 minutes doing that.

I have had a good week and I was wondering what some of you would do. Transamerica is the only carrier I know that does not have a commission decrease at older ages, but in this case they were about $12 more a month than SNL. Would you sell them or SNL and take a cut in commissions? I sold SNL.

Settlers will take advanced, seasoned citizens without a commission cut.

Regarding age, if the prospect tells me he's older/younger than what was listed on the card, I ask for his birthday and establish his actual age that way, versus potentially creating an issue out of his inability to do simple math. They won't know the difference regarding pricing anyway when you show them what they qualify for... based on their birth date.

These are final expense prospects, by the way.

I'd done the same thing. When you are comm driven you will really make less money in the long term
