Rytary, Gocovi, MAPD

I used Walmart & Walgreens . . . both requested by client.

Don't know how Scott came up with Clear Spring. My report says NC for Rytary, and tier 5 for Gocovri. Walgreens is std with Clear Spring, Publix and Walmart are preferred.

Cigna has Walgreens & Walmart preferred, tier 4 for both drugs.

My guess is both will be pulled from all formularies in the near future since there are generic equivalents

Mine is just for Gocovri, not Rytary.

Since the generics aren't time-released medications, are they really equivalents?

The generics for these two meds are time release . . . but do they work the same as brand? I can't say. I know the knock against generic time release is the don't always release equal doses over time the way brand name drugs do. These may be different, or not.

But it is difficult to find a brand name on a formulary once there is a generic form available.
