Will CMS Call a MAPD Client?

I think that only comes up when there is a complaint by the enrollee. I assisted a coworker with such a complaint a couple of years ago. The list had a whole litany of questions. Among these, United Health asked for a copy of the SOA, method of contact, any contacts since enrollment, broker's version of the story, etc.
Ok then, so it sounds like CMS only gets involved when the client files a complaint...
 
No, it was the carrier that asked for all of that information.
Yes I understand that. I assume the carrier asked for the info to be prepared to for a CMS inquiry, knowing that CMS would demand those documents. I guess i was mainly trying find out if anyone had been "put in time out" by CMS because of CMS making random contact to MAPD clients and asking them questions to collaborate the documented info that agents have. Hope that makes sense.
 
Most seniors don't even remember what they had for breakfast. At least that is what I'm banking on.
