I personally started with 2 months worth of lead costs in the bank. You have to give enough lead time for your appointments/contracting to go through and get your first commission. The more breathing room you can give yourself the better. I have 5 kids, so I had to make sure I didn't corner myself. Otherwise my FE career would have been over before it started!
