Its hard enough to get an appointment with most but for an fe agent who writes heavy vol its almost impossible for me to believe most are also delivering there policies in addition to seeing 20-30 people a week. do most people on here deliver there policies are have them delivered?

I think it is really good to deliver the policy, but I usually don't have the time to do it. I just get them mailed to the client, but some companies mail them to me. I then just mail it to the client. I wish I could deliver more of them.

I used to deliver them but then stopped cus seemed many times they would be a no show for delivery and just say to leave it on the front porch! I do mail out thank you cards with reminder dates of their effective dates, death benefit and premiums and I call them when app is approved and to remind them when they should expect their policy in the mail.

I'm actually going out tomorrow to deliver policies. I try to deliver them, but I think I will start to just mail the ones that come to me.

I used to deliver policies (as I was trained to do). But then a few years back I stumbled across a policy I forgot to deliver a year before. I had to make an embarrassing phone call. A life policy is a valuable asset that I now think should be in their hands right away in case something happened to me or the client. At least there is something to find in the house for the survivors.

I now have them sent directly to the client and offer to come out and go over it if they wish and call regardless to make sure they received it, etc. Kind of a compromise in that although I am not personally delivering it, I am still offering service. I like Amber's approach as well. I believe persistency suffers if you do nothing at all after the sale.

I have them sent to me by most of my companies. I usually do drop by policy deliveries when it is convenient for me. Some I mail but I want my business card stapled on the policy.

I do make additional sales at policy deliveries fairly often. I also save cases that got cold feet (buyers remorse) fairly often too.

I haven't thought of stapling my card to the policy. What I do is write on the outside of the envelope that the policy comes in the clients name, face amount, policy type, my name and phone number.

I also highlight the information inside the policy so if another agent ever looks at the policy they can't say it's not WL or any other thing since I have it highlighted.

Whether FE or FU I have all policies sent to me. Whether I deliver it in person depends on the client more so than the plan. My biggest deals this last year I have never met and they wanted the policies mailed. Some of my smallest I delivered. Everything goes out Priority or overnight. Two reasons, tracking and the perception of importance.

Like Newby I want my name and contact info on the policy. I put a sticker on the front, on the spec page and under a couple business cards on the inside of the policy jacket. They have my 800# and email highlighted. I strip out any unnecessary company info. If term, i tape a colored note to the front that this policy has a guaranteed conversion option and to call me at ________.

I copy the spec page as well as rider pages and of course non forfeiture pages.

Some companies we have to push a little to mail us the policies.

To JD:

Are you still delivering policies?

If so, are you continuing the level of sales and referral success you experienced this time a year ago?

I deliver 99% of my policies I hve them all sent to me even if I'm going to mail them.

I did sell an RNA this week in an area far from my leads and where I don't have any leads for now. I didn't check the send to the agent box on that one.

But that's an aberation. As a rule I deliver policies.
