When it comes to picking your primary carrier its overall usefulness and competitive rates are key.

In your opinion what carrier can take a vast majority of your business and still remain competitive AND offer full first day coverage when you write them.

For example Transamerica is a great primary carrier but you can't send them insulin, and asthma.

FBL
RNA

Both of them have age restrictions though.

LBL
Assurity
Just tougher to deal with.

Outside Kskj which is only in limited states nobody that i know of takes insulin, copd, heavy heart meds, previous cancer at the 2 yr mark. Trans is weak on cancer(4 yr min) and insulin. Foresters nor Rna will take copd level. Trans and Rna are good for super Obese people.United Heritage takes most things but not copd. All the above have crappy smoker rates.Snl and Slac have good smoker rates but tighter underwriting. Kskj with lower comp seems to cover the most ailments level.

For guys that work multiple states having a primary carrier without major variations between the states is also important. No point in calling them your go to if for an entire month you're not able to use them.

The more I think about it the more Foresters fits this definition.
- competitive rates throughout the ages and tobacco
- insulin, asthma, some blood thinners level benefit
- niche uses with some neurological conditions
-50-85, 81-85 graded options
- competitive compensation outside of 81-85 reduction

If they take more of your business, then maybe the comp isn't as low as you think.

I also like Foresters.

I've had Sentinel Security for a while, but never used them. On paper they look great. They do a POS PHI with no decision(that'll change soon) with the same company Foresters uses. I'm going to write a couple with them next week. If it goes smoothly, I can see them as a possible go to(I'm not a real FE guy).

They're very competitively priced. They have a true Graded(30*70*100). They go 0-85(Level). They'll take a 5 year old on insulin as long as they've never taken more than 50 units a day. They'll take oxygen Graded. They've got some nice niches. Lots of things to like about them. I'm going to give them a try. I've used them for Med Supps and they have some great rates on MYGA's.

Several issues with Foresters when it comes to phone sales.

It must be via their e-app and voice signature, which is not approved in all states. Of course, you can just limit your marketing to those states.

No separate owner or payor allowed and must be EFT (I could be mistaken on the EFT).

No replacements allowed and in some states cannot use at all if there is existing insurance.

Also, it is a LONG process. Fill out the e-app, then call Aptyical so they can go over every single of piece of information AGAIN, plus disclosures if not already sent, and then finally the PHI and approval.

Would like to hear how it goes with them, they also take Direct express without a add to the premium unlike SNL.

Not sure if competitive rates are key. Certainly there is nothing wrong with competitive rates. I thought of Lincoln Heritage and Troy Miles in PA. They are doing over a million a month in one state.

When picking a primary carrier, you need predictability. A carrier that has great agent customer service. One that pays commissions daily and even has advance on issue. One who's goal is to get your business issued and get you paid!

Lead program/Lead Financing
0-85 issue ages. No reduction in commission for ages 81-85
Renewals
Vesting from day one.
No PHI
Draft 1st Payment up to 40 days from app date
Draft Options for every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Wednesday of the month
Simple Application
Liberal Underwriting
Incentive Trips
No PHI and so much more. This would be United Heritage! Great Company Great People! They are my primary. If anyone needs a contract call me 210-771-3754.

I understand the idea of having something for everyone...but we don't sell everyone. So as long as your primary carrier takes at least 95% of your business your good.
