Anybody else get the notice that American Republic and Pinnacle are parting ways? Could Obamacare mess things up any worse, oh wait, YES!!

CAREAdvantage Optima, Choice and Access plans dated after September 23, 2010 can no longer be accepted by American Republic Insurance Co., as these plans are not compliant with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). Applications written and issued prior to September 23, 2010 still represent excellent coverage for your customers and are grandfathered under the PPACA .
Pinnacle has, as of this date, been unable to reach an acceptable agreement with American Republic to continue marketing products which it insures. Our concern with the proposed agreement was language that allowed ARIC to modify or eliminate commissions on in-force business prior to May 15, 2010. As a result of Pinnacle not signing the contract addendum, ARIC has chosen at this time not to provide Pinnacle with individual health products that are compliant with the PPACA.
It is important for your existing customers to know that the policies currently in-force prior to September 23, 2010 will continue to be insured and serviced by American Republic as before. Also important is that agents will continue to receive the compensation on these policies based upon the Schedule of Commissions in place at the time the plan was sold.
The Pinnacle Benefits Group remains committed to the individual health market and looks forward to returning to marketing products insured by American Republic in the near future.
Should you or your customers receive any correspondence from American Republic or you have any questions please contact Pinnacle.

Does anybody really care about American Republic? Oh, I forgot I got a client in Mozambique with them. Third world carrier that they have always been.

I wonder what those IMO's with their phat 15% overrides are going to do post reform?

All of those 2nd/3rd rate carriers are gone, or going post reform......

Thanks John: I'm one of the guys wearing an orange apron. Maybe I need to change my name to HomeDepotGuy. I hope they don't make me cut my hair and limit my porn surfing at work on my smartphone.

I'm the bald guy in the blue shirt. Orientation was a bitch but I'll have a handle on it by next week. They misspelled my name tag so now I have a wait for a new one.

"Change has come to America"

Seriously though, what are the IMO's going to do?

Isn't their whole business model flawed now?
