Talk about last minute decisions. With less than 1 week before open-enrollment, Anthem-BlueCross has suddenly decided to leave the exchange, in Wisconsin's Milwaukee, Racine & Kenosha counties. These 3 counties have the most minorities, immigrants and Chicagoland commuters.

Because of a hospital chain contract dispute. No hospitals, no network, no offering. Not due to pressure

Don't take it personally: BCBS changed 'everything' in D/FW; went from PPO to 100% HMO.

I'm not so sure what is happening in Pima County with Carondelet Hospital pulling out of the Secure HMO Network. The email from Blue Cross indicates that BCBS is still negotiating with them in the Medicare Advantage and PPO network. Perhaps that hospital did not want to be in the Secure network, because it is the narrowest HMO network that BCBS has to offer in that region. Like Yagents said, "no hospitals, no network, no offering", so this completely wiped out the Secure Network. Fortunately that region has the broader Statewide HMO network to rely on.
