Honestly I bet I’ve knocked 7-10k doors in over a decade . I can’t remember one time were somebody threatened to shoot me . I’ve had plenty of angry people at me . I had an event about 6 yrs ago . I actually thought about it when I heard all these shootings . Was at a house . Had to go to car and get something . I was reading what I got and had my head down . Walked in the house . A voice from somebody standing on banister about goes “ who the f*** are you . I walked in the wrong house . I said “ sorry and told him super quick what happened “ I was out if there in 10 seconds . I easily could have been shot

#1 Be properly well dressed (have a logo on your shirt)
#2 Be properly identified (where an identification badge)
#3 Be properly placed (knock and step back from the door, don't look like your charging in)
#4 Be properly announced (knock, then shout, "Mildred, I'm coming in and there ain't nothing you can do about it !")
...Ok, maybe not #4... then again it depends. 
Someone opens the door with a gun pointed at me, it will not be the militia that s not well regulated...
