Federal Judge in Florida Case Expected to Rule on Monday

Now if that happens and there are gaps, that leaves opportunities for some of you to fill those gaps.

Maybe agents will win by losing?
Al is correct.

A universal system would yield supplemental opportunities on a scale never seen before. Just look at other countries...

Of course everyone that enjoys underwriting, rate ups, waivers and declines will have to find something else for entertainment.

Yeah BUT Al............those are Socialist and Communist countries. Oh wait..........crap, never mind. :swoon:

That made me laugh out loud. Thanks.

Al - why not have the government dictate prices now and save us all a bunch of trouble? If they would allow that, then the private insurers could afford a much lower rate.

Instead, those with private insurance subsidize those with Medical/medicare, meaning they currently pay in both taxes AND additional premiums, simply because the government won't dictate the rates, as you suggest would be so easy.

Truth is Al, your philosphy wouldn't work (and you are smart enough to know that). Well, it could if politicians had backbones, but, once elected, we all know the first thing that happens is the spinalremovalectomy. Just won't happen....

Dan

Al, the first day that the government tries that stunt will be the last day medicine advances. The reason health insurance cannot contain costs is because people will not control their lifestyles and they perceive no financial pain for their lack of self control.

From the Washington Times

"Judge uses Obama’s words against him

In ruling against President Obama‘s health care law, federal Judge Roger Vinson used Mr. Obama‘s own position from the 2008 campaign against him, arguing that there are other ways to tackle health care short of requiring every American to purchase insurance.

“I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that ‘if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house,’” Judge Vinson wrote in a footnote toward the end of the 78-page ruling Monday.

Heard the exact same thing in 1963 (I was in high school) when Medicare was being debated... except it came from a more qualified source then you... the AMA.

If you think you can win with a "gloom and doom" argument over "Medicare for all" I wish you all the luck in the world because you are going to need it... since it didn't work when Goldwater used it (in 1964)... and in case you forgot... he got crushed by LBJ.

Face it. Unless you conservatives come up with something better than "Medicare for all" President Obama has you by your balls on the healthcare issue.... and if the economy gets better (your worst political nightmare) the jobs issue goes away and healthcare comes back to the main burner... and you are toast.

Al

You just said Medicare wasn't dictating pricing? So apparently they haven't tried it yet.

Just some food for thought. The DoD is the only buyer for numerous technologies and the resulting products. Yet, the DoD has never dictacted pricing. They might pass on a project because it costs too much, but they haven't said, "No, make that fighter jet for $10 million less per unit." In fact, the DoD has a reputation for cost overruns.

So, if the government can't do it with military contracts, where they are the only buyer, what makes you think they can do it with health care?

Not all bad news for libs....At least Unions in these 26 States wont have to ask for an exemptions from Obamcare now !!!!!
