Hello,
I am reading what I can about cold calling. I've bought my first list of phone numbers. I want to get my feet wet with at least a few appointments before I go to closing the whole deal over the phone as I have read others doing. Cold calling is a type of masochism that I am told pays off to the persistent. Any suggestions would be helpful.
 
I agree with the face to face as it would be easier for most to have a person there in front of them to start out to build confidence.

The ride along is a great idea, as then you can see how the appointment flows & common questions asked.

Of course if this is not an option, you could always go door to door for practice.
 
Thank you! I agree with all three of you. I am going to generate my own leads through print advertising, signs, and post cards. Any thoughts on buying leads?
