Lead vendors/List Companies purchase Data. If you have ever claimed that your household income is $50,000 or less on some type of application, in order to get some type of discount, or for any reason, this is Data that can be sold!
It goes the other way too.
When someone applies for a credit card, and claims they make $30,000 a year, but really only makes $6,000 a year, then I end up knocking on someones door who doesn't have a pot to pee in!

Data like income range is highly inaccurate, which is why the "standard" range is 0-50k.
There are better filters to use to better target FE type buyers - like which counties one works, which ethnic demo to target, and age range.
