Termination and Renewals

I am appointed with half a dozen carriers but find myself only using 3-4 on a regular basis. I was recently terminated by a carrier for non-production. What usually happens to my renewals in that sistuation? Also, for the experienced agents, is being terminated by a carrier like that a common thing? Should I be sweating it?

Some will cancel your appointment, and some won't. In my state the carriers all pay my appointment fee annually, so if I'm not producing why would they continue to pay it? They will re-appoint you when you submit some business for them.

It will depend on your contract. Normally you are vested to your renewals as long as they exceed a certain dollar amount per year such as $300. Normally being terminated for non production is not a huge issue especially if your state allows you to solicit business without an appointment some states require you to be appointed prior to solicitation.
