Does a true carrier partner exist? How is it manifested?

What about the other way around, from the carrier's perspective:

NO..it doesn't. Maybe if you have a 5MM book with a carrier it's different..

Some reps are great and have great intentions but the carriers don't care.

When your book is so big the CEO invites you to their corporate office :)

Yes- it happens, but you have to have a huge book W/ them.

I believe i get this with my main carrier.

I have a district manager that comes to my office at least twice a month, plenty of back office support, a loss control specialist who will go and look at risks with me to determine if they are good, no charge on MVR's, and competitive pricing on all products. Not to mention live training and monthly meeting with other agents and back office people.

What else could you ask for?

I would ask for about 5 more preferred companies..

Deliverables and Golf with the CEO = Carrier Partner.
(What does that get the carrier, when profitability is the agenda?)

So you are loyal to a carrier and consider them a partner as long as you get to golf with the big man and receive deliverables (rate, rating platform, tech, good UWs, Claims...?)

So there is no such thing as Carrier Partners? or the inverse, Agency Partners?

Ok. Underwriting authority, policy issuance authority, manuscripted endorsement potential if needed, increased commissions, profit sharing, prior notice as to changes in appetite or business model, access to head of claims dept if needed, consideration of coverage additions/recomendations to current program, exclusive territory, overall franchise value. That is a carrier partner and yes they do exist.
