My response is ALWAYS If you don't expect it or have business with a company, don't cash the check with your bank... or at all.

It's definitely a marketing ploy. People will open a letter that looks like a check. However, especially with seniors, there are too many trip wires.

Better cautious at all times than sorry.

I believe you need a valid ID to cash a check.

Wally World doesn't require you to prove you are the rightful owner of their store card.

I am pretty sure you can use the Wally World card as an ID when you vote.

Since the issuer of the check requires it. It is their money until you cash it and they can put any restrictions on it that they like.

The "Disclaimer" towards bottom of letter they are merely gaining permission to contact.
