Ok. All Leads Are Created Equal; or Are They?

I am not able to get the specifics on how they do that ... They don't wanna give away their secrets apparently!

Buying leads & setting a certain # of appointments every day. After awhile you will get referrals ect. Plus they're beats!

But what I want to know is how much the time , gas , and wear and tear comes into profits. I'd rather make less and do everything online and over the phone, but that's just me!

I would think it's a wash. Yes there's money spent on gas and auto maintenance and of course the value of time. But the telesales agent has to buy far more leads.

But, if it's a wash or not is not my driving factor. I would not sit in an office all day everyday dialing a phone. To me that's 10 times harder than what I do and far more time consuming.

But to each his own. If someone is willing to do that then more power to them.

How the heck do Spur City and JD Easy manage to get in touch with so high a percentage of their prospects? :1baffled:

I think some areas are harder than others. PERIOD!

My wife gets the credit for getting in touch of so many clients. She's relentless and she uses the secrets and techniques I've taught her to get as many people on the horn as possible.

However, she has called in other areas of the country for some of my agents on occasion and gets beat up sometimes.

Not all areas are created equal

You don't need to buy leads or dial if you do it right. Websites, email campaigns, ect will get you more leads then you could ever want. Easier said than done though ! I completely understand the part where you don't like to stay inside all day, your day is probably way more exciting!

Right, you are writing over $200K a year in FE and not buying any leads. :D:D:D

Not even close I just started! Thankfully my wife makes enough to get us by until I'm at that level. Once I build a team and let my long term campaigns do their course it will be smooth sailing.

Kudos to you though. What kills me is living in SoCal means crazy traffic EVERYWHERE! I used to see an accident almost everyday. But if you like what you're doing keep on doing it! Lol to each his own! :)

Oh dear God! Another one that has been served the Kool-Aide!

When you get some time under your belt, you're going to look back on your post and think...."was I really that naive?"

Oh dear God! Another one who pries on new forum members posts.

I was not saying it is going to be easy at all. BUT I have had several HIGH TURN OVER sales jobs and have been #1 out of hundreds of sales people and the #1 sales manager when 99% don't make it 3 months- so no I won't feel naive. Excuse me for being confident.

Todd is one of the least recruiting recruiters here.

I do the vast majority of my work by phone and email. I do not think it can be done, I know it is being done. However, Todd said what a lot of people were thinking after reading your third sentence.

I think you miss my point. It wasn't some sort of put down. From what you said it appears as though you may have hooked up with one of the organizations that want new agents to start recruiting when that's the very last thing they should be doing.

I'm glad that you have a bunch of sales experience behind you, but I've seen many well trained sales people go broke in this business (especially the senior market) because it really wasn't a good fit or they started out the wrong way to begin with. I've also seen agents that never sold the first thing catch right on and do quite well.

Please realize that we've been around long enough that we've heard the same story many times over. Sometimes we do jump to conclusions, but most times not. We know most of the tricks of many of the marketing companies.

I for one, hope you become successful in a very short time. It's great to see it when it happens. On the flip side, it's sad to see an agent start out the wrong way and end up working the drive through.

What he's pointing out is that recruiting before you are killing it yourself is a huge clue that you've fallen in with a cult.

Agencies that give out low commission contracts can't get fools to sign up at low commissions. So they brain wash them with "You bring on 5-guys and then those guys all bring on 5-guys and ... And that way they can get 25 Patsy's to contract at less than 100% commission levels.

Stick around and you will see it over and over. Then the down line Patsy's debt rolls up to the higher Patsy and his 10% over ride becomes a 100% chargeback and he'll be back here asking "can they really ruin my credit over this? It's not fair. "

Not saying you fell for a bad deal. But the recruiting talk makes it look like you did.
