Actually, if he was smart (and time machines existed), you travel to the future and take pictures of the tombstones of the people on your list. Then you come back and call them up to set an appointment.
Now, a common question that comes up is "what kind of life insurance should I buy?" A common response is "If you'll tell me when you're going to die, I'll tell you what kind of insurance to buy."
Well, now you cheat and show them THEIR tombstone from the future and say, "Based on this picture, I would recommend...".
Of course, some regulator might call that 'twisting'... but I don't know if it's really 'twisting' if you're just telling them the truth?
