Why are most insurance agents politically conservative?

Which side of the political spectrum do you lean towards?

  • Far right (Ultra conservative)

  • Mid right (Conservative)

  • Centrist (Maybe a little left or right but mostly centered)

  • Mid left (Liberal)

  • Far left (Ultra Liberal)

I believe that it's more about the overriding philosophy between Left and Right.

The Left: Let government take care of everything.
The Right: You should take care of yourself.

Buying non-required insurance (all insurance other than auto and homeowners, etc.) is about taking responsibility and requires more character to buy. That seems to attract more conservative agents and advisors to help people make individual decisions.

Just the common thread I tend to notice.

For me personally, I'm fiscally conservative and far more Libertarian on social issues.

Insurance Sales. The harder you work, the more $$$$ you make! I started at age 27. I’m now 70. From age 27 to about age 40, I worked my ass off. How can I not be conservative? I voted mid right. Guys like Tucker Carlson are too much for me.
