Sorry if this is not the correct thread but I need to know how to file a claim against a broker I signed up with. The gist is, I gave $1200 for a lead order that I never received. I paid through Venmo (and notated for Life lead order on the invoice) put on my card (not bank transfer). Venmo told me to do a dispute for goods not received through my bank card which I have but it can take months in the process. In the meantime, the broker has given me the runaround telling me she sold policies under my leads and would reimburse me but has given repeated delays/excuses for not sending me my money back. I believe she gave my leads to other agents as well and I have received no payment from this to date (after a month). I told her I would be filing a complaint with her state insurance board, along with the Attorney General office in her state if she didn't pay me and she hasn't so I did. I also sent a demand letter for payment and the next step is to file a small claims. However, my understanding is that the E&O insurance would cover the small claims judgement but I don't know how to find out who her E&O is with. Does anyone know how to find this out?

Also, do I have any other remedies in this situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Time to move on, your learned a valuable lesson and it only cost you $1,200. Trying to recover will probably cost you more.

@Lee Vena - If I had a lot $ in reserves I would have chalked it up to loss. But she knew it was $ for my mortgage payment this month and I trusted her because she said with $1200 I could double my money and get 4 sales out of it. So, I took a low risk gamble (I thought) since this person has YT interview videos. I will probably do a YT video myself warning others of joining this company and suffering the same fate.

Im so confused, is this a thread about you getting stiffed on lead order?

Where does E and O come in?

What do you mean broker ? lead broker or insurance broker?

Always pay for leads with CC so you cna dispute not bank card with no protection

also why are you make a 1200 order with unproven source, and are they an actual company?

strange I have been as of late getting emails saying this is Mike do you want to buy leads with a 30% close ratio email me at [email protected] and many other names same thing

The 1st time I thought is this guy serious no one would ever do that but the multitude of other emails with dif names I am guessing they are getting a lot of bites

@vic120 - Insurance broker and yes she has a website/company and the interviews on YT appeared to be credible and Cody A. had interviewed her (he has nothing to do with it as far as I know) unless they are all scamming agents. I don't want to make assumptions here except for the broker I have experience with and signed up with.

Yes, stiffed on lead order from insurance broker

Well your answer just backs up what I said. Since you do not have a lot of $ in reserve, why spend more to maybe get back your original payment?
